  • Completed degree (Master’s or PhD) in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Broad technical and methodological understanding in the field of medical technologies.
  • Experience or strong knowledge in at least two of the following areas:
    – Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
    – Simulation (e.g., structural mechanics, CFD, discrete event simulation)
    – Statistical shape modeling / geometric modeling
  • Interest in understanding the big picture of medical-technical systems and working across disciplines.
  • Analytical and structured working style with the ability to quickly learn new topics.
  • Programming skills beyond Python (e.g., C++, R) are a plus.
  • Experience with numerical simulation software (e.g., ANSYS) is a strong advantage.
  • Team-oriented mindset, initiative, and a research-driven way of thinking with curiosity and willingness to learn.

  • Holistic understanding and active contribution to medical technologies in the fields of medical AI, (numerical) simulation, and statistical shape modeling.
  • Contribute to the design, analysis, and further development of AI-based medical applications.
  • Develop, analyze, and evaluate new methodological approaches for modeling medical systems and processes.
  • Work with statistical shape models to investigate anatomical variability and patient-specific geometries.
  • Support the development and evaluation of simulation and analysis environments.
  • Analyze medical data (imaging data, process data, statistical analyses) and derive well-founded conclusions.
  • Collaborate closely in interdisciplinary teams with experts from medicine, engineering, and research.
  • Document research results and contribute to internal reports, scientific publications, and project proposals.

The annual salary is 44.450€ gross on a full-time basis according to the IT collective agreement.
Willingness to pay more based upon qualifications and experience.
