  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, ­Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or a related field
  • Strong expertise in computer vision and machine learning, ideally in a medical or surgical context
  • Experience with registration methods, geometric image processing, and feature-based or learning-based approaches
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, and experience with CV/AI frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Experience working with medical imaging data (CT/MR) and coordinate systems is a plus
  • Research-oriented mindset with the ability to indepen-dently develop, prototype, and validate new ideas
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with DICOM and medical imaging standards, as well as data protection and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, MDR)
  • Ability to present complex technical topics in a clear and understandable way
  • Self-driven, motivated, and proactive working style

    Nice to Have

  • Experience with surgical navigation systems, tracking technologies, or intraoperative imaging
  • Knowledge of 3D vision, SLAM, or camera calibration
  • Scientific publications or prior research in computer vision or medical AI

  • Developing and prototyping computer vision algorithms for surgical navigation and guidance systems
  • Designing and evaluating CV-based registration methods, including image-to-image and image-to-patient registration
  • Exploring innovative concepts at the intersection of computer vision, AI, and medical imaging
  • Working with intraoperative and preoperative data (e.g., CT, MR, camera-based, or tracking-based data)
  • Collaborating closely with surgeons, ­medical imaging experts, and software developers to ­translate ideas into clinically deployable solutions
  • Contributing to documentation, technical reports, and scientific publications

The annual salary is 53.802€ gross on a full-time basis according to the IT collective agreement.
Willingness to pay more based upon qualifications and experience.
