CADS and the Red Cross invited to a blood donation drive in Perg

On the afternoon of 21 September, needles were brought out for the second time at the CADS site in Perg. Following last year’s successful premiere, we once again teamd up with the Red Cross to host a blood donation drive at the Perg Technology Center.

It wasn’t just our (brave) employees who answered the call. Numerous donors from Perg and the surrounding area, lay down on the donation beds and rolled up their sleeves. Ready to make their contribution to medical care in Austria.

In total, around 70 people turned up at the Perg Technology Centre to donate blood. And we’re delighted about that.

Software for everyday medical care, blood donations for immediate impact

With Monday’s blood drive, we were also able to make a difference beyond our professional expertise. Our software helps support everyday medical care, while a blood donation can save a life immediately.

Every donation counts

Blood banks often face particular challenges after the summer months. Donated blood has a limited shelf life and still cannot be produced artificially. At the same time, one blood donation is needed every 90 seconds in Austria, amounting to approximately 1,000 units per day. Blood is essential for treating patients after surgery, following accidents, or during serious illness.

With this initiative, we want to contribute to healthcare while also raising awareness of just how important a single blood bag can be when a life is at stake.
