Your Skills

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience, Artificial Intelligence, Medical Informatics or a related discipline.
• Solid experience in deep learning for medical imaging, particularly with CNN-based architectures such as 2D/3D U-Net.
• Proven experience with explainable AI frameworks and techniques (e.g., Grad-CAM, SHAP, LIME, LRP, counterfactual approaches).
• Proficiency in Python and respective XAI/AI/ML libraries
• Familiarity with DICOM and medical imaging standards, as well as data privacy and regulatory considerations (e.g., GDPR, MDR).
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Curiosity, independence and a research-oriented mindset with a passion for impactful medical AI.

Your Tasks

As an Explainable AI Specialist, you will play a key role in making advanced medical imaging models transparent, interpretable and clinically trustworthy.
In this role you will:

• Develop and evaluate explainability methods for state-of-the-art deep learning models (e.g. 2D/3D U-Net, CNN-based architectures) applied to medical imaging data such as CT and MRI.
• Design and implement novel XAI approaches, including saliency maps, feature attribution methods and counter factual explanations, tailored to volumetric and multi-modal data.
• Visualization is crucial: Drive visualization strategies for explainable AI by deciding what to visualize, how to visualize it and when visualization best supports under standing and clinical decision-making.
•  Integrate explainability pipelines into existing deep learning workflows, ensuring alignment with clinical needs and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate closely with medical experts, data scientists and software engineers to validate and deploy inter pretable AI solutions in real clinical environments.
• Document and communicate findings in technical reports, scientific publications and interdisciplinary meetings.
